Funding global vaccine outreach can save millions of lives

Thanks for printing Michael and Leslie Boyer’s Oct. 24 letter about the life-saving work of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. (“Urge Congress to add funding to global vaccine program for kids”)

America’s bold pledge to this work should be front page news: “Over 1 billion children vaccinated, over 17 million lives saved!” Of course Congress still has to pass the money for this pledge, and letters to the editor like the Boyers can help this happen.

We can help to by encouraging those who represent us to fund this life-saving work, the opposite of so many wars going on in our world. Or just send a copy of the Boyer’s letter to your representative and Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell and let them know you agree. It is a matter of life and death.
