Reading a recent article, I am wondering once again, what has happened to the world I thought I knew? (“Washington police say drivers aren’t stopping for them,” The Herald, May 31).
Hearing the police demeaned, disrespected, threatened with defunding, on and on, seemingly, without end. When I was growing up, the police were admired, respected, looked up to; they were our protectors; our heroes; and, to many of us today, they still are! So, to you brave men and women out there in law enforcement, whatever branch you serve in, please believe, that you are not only needed, you are held in high esteem, and appreciated, more than you can know.
May God bless, and keep you safe.
