We totally concur with the sentiments of the April 11 letter writer, “Can’t believe a great doctor was let go,” concerning the dismissal of Dr. Susana Matias from the Providence Physician Group, Snohomish.
She is but the latest of qualified primary care doctors who have left this clinic in the past 5-10 years. All were fine, caring physicians willing to spend time with their patients and listen to their concerns. However, the doctors could not serve their patients in the 15-minute segments which they were directed to follow for each appointment by the PPG. We were told at one time that if we had too many questions for a 15-minute segment, we should book two segments.
Dr. Matias felt her patients were more important than the imposed 15-minute appointments and many times went over the time limit. Perhaps this is why she was let go. What a loss for our community!
