Greene has background, skills for Everett mayor’s office

I am endorsing Dr. Janice Greene for Mayor for the City of Everett.

I got to know Dr. Greene while I served as Snohomish County’s finance director. In 2010, the County Public Facilities District Board was seeking a board member to represent the Everett community who had strong business experience and excellent community ties. Dr. Greene was selected, nominated by the county executive and then appointed by the County Council.

As the County’s Public Facilities Board liaison, I got to work closely with Janice. The personal strengths she demonstrated included excellent listening skills, a sense of humor, an ability to balance needs of different interest groups and a skill of incorporating sound human and business values into her positions.

Janice is an Everett native whose business background is as sound as her demonstrated personal values. She rose through the ranks at The Boeing Co. to become a senior manager. She has since operated her own consulting company and served as a respected leader for the communities of color in Snohomish County.

Those who have worked with Janice will agree that her strong listening skills, tactful respect for those with whom she interacts and ability to never lose sight of the big picture lead to sound decisions on important issues.

Dr. Greene is a strong community leader who will help Everett continue to grow as it takes on the challenges of the future. I urge you to join me in supporting her.
