In case there is any doubt we need mass transit, all you have to do is look at the high price of gasoline. As it goes higher more people are turning to mass transit in order to get to work every day. Buses are a cheaper and more cost-effective mode of transit.
The supporters of Initiative 745 claim it is social engineering to force people out of cars and onto buses. It is just as bad to force people out of buses and into cars. They do not understand that road projects are budgeted on a project-by-project basis. To allocate funds without specific projects will waste tax dollars. The only people who will benefit are the people who would build the roads.
If I-745 passes, our taxes could go higher in order to make the 90 percent to 10 percent ratio. A lot of people could lose their jobs and traffic could get a lot worse because there are more cars on the road. I-745 is a bad idea. We need to have options in order to solve our traffic problems.
