I agree with New York Times columnist David French, military veteran Congress members Sen. Tammy Duckworth and Rep. Ted Lieu that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth should resign for his appalling carelessness in using Signal to discuss war plans.

I agree with Congressional leaders that National Security Adviser Mike Walz, who accidentally added a journalist to that discussion, should resign, and that there should be a thorough investigation into their team’s disclosure of war plans and other topics so sensitive that the journalist in question initially declined to detail them until Trump administration officials insisted the information was not classified.
