I want to thank The Herald for the wonderful article that was published on Wednesday about Tim Johnson. The front-page story, “Pilot likely fought controls,” was about a close friend of mine, and of many others.
Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Tim will agree that it was an inspiring and well written account of not only that tragic day, but of what kind of man he was. Tim was a very cautious and established pilot and he would never do any kind of acrobatics that would jeopardize anyone. I was a co-worker of Tim’s and had flown with him many times and I always felt the safest with him. He will be missed more than words can ever express by everyone who knew him.
So I think that I can safely say thank you from all of us for the beautifully written tribute to our friend, Tim Johnson. Every time the wind whistles through the trees, or I hear a bird sing, I will think of Tim and know that he is near. Happy flying, Tim.
