I voted for Dave Somers for Snohomish County Council four years ago, and I will definitely vote for him again this year. He has proven to me that he cares about Snohomish County and my community. It’s not easy being a leader when there are lots of problems to solve. Listening, understanding and making hard decisions are qualities that Dave has that I think are important as my representative. One of the areas I am particularly concerned about is how to preserve what little environmental quality we have left.
Next year the County Council will be adopting a revised Critical Areas Ordinance. We need Dave Somers to represent us because he has the scientific background and experience to understand why this ordinance is so important in protecting our wetlands, steep slopes, streams, creeks and salmon habitat.
There are other very important laws that will be revised and re-evaluated in 2002. Reversing the leadership now could have damaging and far-reaching effects.
Let’s re-elect Dave Somers because he has made positive changes for our County and will continue to do so.
