Herald Homework: Fast food isn’t healthy

Fast food should not be in a regular diet because of the unhealthy ingredients in it.

Fast Food Facts informs us that fast food is high in sodium, saturated fat, trans fat and cholesterol, so you shouldn’t eat it often. Eating too much over time can lead to issues such as high blood pressure, heart disease and obesity. Because you constantly eat fast food, you can get heart diseases that are extremely annoying, or even fatal. In “Is KFC Bad For Your Health: What Researchers Say” explains, “Researchers have proved that the grilled chicken of KFC, McDonald’s, and other fast food stores have loads of sodium. The excessive intake of sodium causes breast cancer, obesity, high blood pressure, and other health complications.”

There are many diseases that come from overload of unhealthy ingredients, so eating fast food regularly has a worse punishment than committing a small crime. “What Happens When You Eat Fast Food?” says all fast food, including “healthy” fast food, is high in sugar, salt, saturated and trans fats, and processed preservatives and ingredients.

Fast food is also depleted of beneficial nutrients. This means “healthy” fast food is overloaded with unhealthy ingredients so that that is not healthy. The opposing side may say that fast food is cheaper than a home-cooked meal. This is a lie. Fast food is a single serving, where home cooked meals can be frozen and eaten as leftovers. Therefore, fast food should be consumed only occasionally.
