I am appalled to hear about the recent layoffs of over half of the Everett Herald newsroom, and find it equally appalling that the article discussing the layoffs was briefly retracted. Transparency is important to your community, as is good journalism. The choices made here negate both. My heart breaks for everyone laid off. I wish you could have treated them better.
