The Everett Herald has always done a fantastic job of highlighting and supporting student-athletics and the high schools of the Wesco League and Snohomish County broadly. I hope that the coverage and quality of reporting does not suffer as you go through what sounds like a re-organization.
The broader trend of local media and newspapers going out of business is startling and does not bode well for the freedom of the press and a well-educated citizenry within our community and nation.
I hope that as a business, and as a healthy check and balance for our democracy, that the Everett Herald can maintain the needed staff to continue its high-quality publication that is vital for the Everett and Snohomish County Communities to be engaged and well informed.
