It is during times like these when we often slow down and reflect on people who are dear to us and who have impacted our lives. Sharon Salyer, former reporter with The Herald, is one such person who has not only been on my mind lately but also on the minds of many in Snohomish County. Sharon’s coverage and reporting on the mental health issues and challenges faced by our community has always been profound and impactful. She always took the time to reach out to our membership for our perspectives. We will miss her and always respect her for her contributions. I imagine that The Herald will have a hard time “filling her shoes” but we certainly need this caliber of reporting now more than ever.
