The Sept. 7 Herald had a front-page story about the Snohomish PUD raising electricity rates by 18 percent on Oct. 1. It contained a long sob story about how wholesale rates from the Bonneville Power Administration, which provides 80 percent of the PUD’s electricity, had drastically increased.
Another article was buried on B6. It reported: “Energy prices that utilities pay falling.” Further, the article states that “the wholesale have returned to normal and utilities are spending much less for power now.”
So, which is the truth? Does anyone really know just what the heck is going on?
