If voting for Republicans, choose wisely

I happen to be a fan of The Daily Herald and value the importance of local news, such as the series on the “Tulalip’s Stolen Children.” But I also appreciate the variety of opinion that is offered on the Opinion page. Monday Tom Burke wrote on “What sorcery brought forth Big Lie”? Others like all are writing about their similar concerns as they look at what is going on in our country. Recently they are all pointing out the concerns that I am also very frightened by, and that is the direction that the current Republican Party is taking!

We must pay attention to what is happening. It has been so sad for me to watch the takeover of the Republican party by Putin’s authoritarian neofascism! I’ve been watching closely as the GOP has allowed itself to be taken over by this system and has turned into a rude, violent, hateful party. Putin has declared that he will win America from within and won’t have to use any military powers to take us over. And true enough he appears to be successful thus far as he moves to plant division wherever he can, using lies and conspiracies throughout our media and social media to confuse and convict ‘those libs.”

So those of us who claim to uphold the Pledge of Allegiance must lock arms and work together to defeat this “takeover” of a Government that has served us well for the past 200 plus years.

Warning, if you vote Republican, be sure it is the Liz Cheney type. The real GOP, the Lincoln-Reagan GOP that demonstrates the genuine Republican values, not those that are committed to Trump, who is committed to his friend Putin and wants to rules as an authoritarian. It is blatantly obvious that Trump is trying hard to overturn our last election so he can rule.
