If we can’t blame him, then who?

Regarding the letter from Roxane Grove on April 1 (“Campaign ads: Stop nit-picking President Bush”) and the letter from Tamara Williams on April 13 (President Bush: We shouldn’t blame him for everything”):

I would like to know if we are not to blame our president for the problems we are currently facing in our country, then who are we to blame? Last I knew we were paying George W. Bush to perform a job. His job is to lead this country to the best of his ability, in the best interest of the people and the running of this country is certainly not petty.

Furthermore, just exactly what is it that these letter writers find “disgusting”? Is it the fact that our fine men and women are shedding their blood or is it that we have a right to march and protest? They are correct in that what happened to those nine Americans was terrible, but that doesn’t make those people over there “fanatics” anymore than we are “fanatics” for forcing other countries to live the way we believe they should, especially when most of what we believe in this country is based on greed. It is my opinion that if America would mind its own business, we wouldn’t have other people trying to kill us all the time.
