On Aug. 10, Turning Point Community Church hosted its fifth annual Church in the Park outreach at Comeford Park in Marysville. Despite a heavy rainfall that lasted the majority of the day, we welcomed approximately 3,000 people to the park, distributed free school supplies to 1,683 families, fed more than 2,000 guests and community hairstylists donated 130 free back-to-school haircuts. It was an excellent day.
This would not have been possible without the support of many local businesses. And while we are extremely grateful for each business that supported us, we would like to acknowledge those businesses that really stepped up to the plate and extended themselves on behalf of our outreach. Those businesses include: Bartell Drugs, Bundy Carpets, Cascade Bank on State Street, Cascade Veterinary, Dr. Releford, DDS, the Marysville Globe, Office Interiors, United Rentals, Walmart, Sheer Perfection, Sophisticuts, and many independently licensed hair stylists who cut hair for close to four hours, and finally, World Vision.
We have already begun to plan for Church in the Park ‘04. If you or your business would like to join us in this worthy outreach, please feel free to contact our church.
