Project Pride, the American Red Cross program that assists low income families with their PUD billings, reached a milestone in November.
More than $2 million has been paid on behalf of Snohomish County residents to prevent disconnection of electric service in their homes.
Through the years, hundreds of committed families have been faithful contributors to Project Pride. The program relies on the constant support of individuals as 97 percent of funding is realized through individual donations.
Those who work with the program feel fortunate to serve on behalf of the special people who are concerned about the welfare of others. More than 26,000 households have received help through Project Pride. It is great to live in a community that shows it truly cares about its neighbors.
