I am highly offended by the Wednesday letter insinuating that the McNaughton Group/Master Builders and Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon are in collusion and are not sensitive to environmental issues. All you have to do is look at the good works they have accomplished in south county, where the developers have improved the environment to a point there is little left to pave over.
The writer erroneously insinuates these folks only have their self interests in mind — this is unfounded. I personally have heard the Master Builders representative plead, before the county Planning Commission, for developers to be exempt from the Critical Areas Ordinance. Otherwise they would be unable to build affordable housing for the starving huddled masses. Their oratory actually brought tears to my eyes. Their altruism knows no bounds. That is the reason the McNaughton Group wants to turn 3,000 acres of farm and forest land into houses and roads. It’s for the sole purpose of providing affordable housing, not personal gain.
How dare you, sir, have you no shame? These folks are only trying to do good works by improving the shoddy natural environment with cement and blacktop.
