Regarding gay marriage: Marriage is an archaic institution; originally designed to pawn daughters off to men and give reasonable assurance that children resulting from the union were a product of the husband.
Marriage has always been, and continues to be, a financial agreement.
Gay marriage opponents cite their “God,” while proponents argue for “equal rights.”
Neither side admits concern over taxes, inheritance, Social Security, Medicare, military pensions and other monetary issues if the union is dissolved or one spouse dies.
Only a minority of couples draw up pre-nuptial agreements … it’s not romantic.
We should replace “marriage” with “incorporation.” For example, Jack and Jill, LLC. Or Mary, Sally and Harry, Inc.
The articles of incorporation would articulate the responsibilities of each member and establish a bail-out plan.
