John Lovick strives to serve public

If you spend any amount of time with John Lovick, you begin to understand very quickly that he genuinely cares about people. In the 15 years I’ve known him as his son-in-law I have seen evidence that he truly strives to serve the public and make the lives of his community better. In addition to his 30 years of service in the Washington State Patrol, Legislature, as Snohomish County Sheriff and Snohomish County executive, he has spent numerous hours raising funds for domestic violence services and Fare Start, volunteering at the Everett Gospel Mission and delivering food to homeless shelters in Snohomish county. I’ve delivered food with him to these shelters, seen the impact of his efforts to help others and have come to believe what so many others have known for years: that he has integrity.

It’s for these reasons that I find it so disturbing that his opponent for the 44th Legislative District seat would go out of his way to publish fabricated information online specifically designed to hurt John and his family. Multiple news outlets recognized that the information provided to them by his opponent was falsified and refused to publish. In response, his opponent’s campaign created its own website and published these falsified documents on their own.

I ask the voters of the 44th District, what are the motives behind this? To what lengths will politicians like John’s opponent go to get elected?

Voters of the 44th District, we have a decision to make. We can gawk at the spectacle that our politics has become or stand up and say this isn’t right by voting against it at the ballot box.
