Johnson’s endorsements reason enough to earn vote for sheriff

Another week. Another death at the Snohomish County jail (“Man, 38, identified after death at Snohomish County jail,” The Herald, Sept. 15). Another opportunity for Sheriff Adam Fortney to take responsibility for what happened. Another lowering of the county’s accreditation. Another fact to support Susanna Johnson in replacing someone proven not fit for sheriff. Good grief: Look at all of Johnson’s endorsements. Those alone are sufficient to support her.

Vote for integrity. Vote for a professional. Fortney would have been canned in any private sector job. He has yet, ever, to accept accountability for his responsibilities of the department, including the county jail. He continues to hide and remain silent. Ask him questions or go to interview him, and he will toss you out of his (actually the tax payers’ office) office. We deserve much better.
