In response to George W. Pardington’s letter regarding military records (“Stop squabbling over military records,” Aug. 18), let me point out that Mr. Bush is also a veteran. Mr. Kerry has felt very free in leveling charges against Mr. Bush by accusing him of not fulfilling his duty – with absolutely no proof.
Mr. Kerry, in my opinion, brought a lot of this on himself by leveling unsubstantiated allegations at Mr. Bush first. He has no room to complain about “unsubstantiated” allegations at this point. If the call is for us to respect our veterans, I suggest we respect all our veterans, no matter whether they saw action or not.
