I write to offer sincere thanks to Kristi O’Harran for highlighting the Catholic Community Services foster care program in her column. Publishing the children’s wish lists for Santa resulted in an amazing outpouring of generosity from our community. As a result, many children had a brighter Christmas. Children in foster care often have to grow up fast. Thanks to Ms. O’Harran and the donors who responded, these children could be “kids” again, if just for one day.
There is one wish that continues year-round and that is the need for more foster families. Please consider opening your heart and home to a child in need.
