Our students are a massive part of our community. They are what make up a big chunk of our schools. Another big part of their environment in our schools is the teachers and staff. Students get very important resources for their learning; but making that useful involves teachers and staff getting resources to be able to work with students and give them the best experience possible.
That’s why I endorse the Lake Stevens School District’s Educational Programs and Operations Levy, as well as the Technology Levy.
These levies continue current levies in place, set to expire, and I feel it is very important to highlight their impact. The EPO levy funds very important necessities, such as nurses, mental health professionals, transportation, security and safety, learning, extracurriculars, and more. Whoever the student is — whether they participate in extracurriculars a lot, only a bit, or one who uses special education programs, or needs mental health counseling, or even just the occasional quick visit to the nurse — they all will benefit in one way or another with this levy.
The technology levy also funds important necessities in the technology field, like infrastructure, classroom technology, 1:1 devices, and more; its importance made even more apparent in the past two years.
In the Feb 8 election, I am asking you to vote yes on these two crucial Lake Stevens School District levies. I am proud to endorse the levies and know they will help continue to make a big impact in our schools.
