Doctors are screaming for tort reform that would cap malpractice awards. Patients are screaming for justice when they are victims of malpractice. Lawyers are seeking substantial rewards for their own pockets as they also seek justice for their patient/clients. Insurance companies seeking to protect their profits charge the doctors more for their insurance. The doctors pass the high cost of premiums onto the patients, and the patients scream about the high cost of medical care. I suspect that the doctors will win this battle because we can’t go to the lawyers for our medical care.
My question is, if the doctors do win, will they pass those savings on to the patients, or use their savings to line their own pockets?
