I have known Remy Stephanson Leonard for 15 years and have observed her legal career and life outside of the courtroom. Remy was born and raised in Everett to a working-class family who taught her to prioritize community above self. Her commitment to family, community and justice is remarkable. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to elect a woman of her experience, integrity and work ethic for our judge.
Remy is the only candidate with experience as a deputy prosecuting attorney, serving our county for over six years, handling countless criminal cases in District and Superior Court. Remy worked daily with crime victims, including adult and child victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. Her knowledge, intelligence and compassion for others are what made her a success as a prosecutor.
Remy took that experience into private civil practice, and began teaching her fellow community members about the law at EvCC, Columbia College and Trinity Lutheran College. Since 2013, Remy has served as a judge pro tem in four different county courts — all while teaching full time and raising her children. Remy treats the people who come before her with respect and dignity. She is a reasonable, fair but tough judge who strives to make her community a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
Remy has earned the respect and endorsement of myself and colleagues like Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Roe, Executive John Lovick, former executive Bob Drewel, Sheriff Ty Trenary, Presiding Superior Court Judge Michael Downes, and many others.
Please join us in voting Remy Stephanson Leonard for Everett District Court judge.
