After watching Donald Trump’s Republican National Convention, I was totally demoralized with the lies, mob chants and the final scary dictator-type acceptance speech by the party’s presidential candidate.
I was therefore grateful for Mr. Schwab’s voice of reason in his July 30 column “A Republican convention like none other we’ve seen.” I have been watching Democratic and Republican conventions since 1956 when I was a teenager and found it hard to believe the Trump-orchestrated hate party was this year’s idea of a legitimate political event.
I am grateful for Mr. Schwab’s point of view on The Herald’s opinion pages. Conservative viewpoints I can tolerate, but seeing those who profess an allegiance to Trump after all we know about him is incomprehensible to this reader.
