In a May 24 letter to the editor (“Drop subversive commentary in paper”) the author presumes to speak for the entirety of middle America as he rails against The Herald and the world in general, past and present.
Excuse me, sir: Don’t include the rest of us in this or any other of your disturbing dissertations. If you don’t like certain journalists in The Herald, no one is forcing you to read their columns.
Although the present administration is pushing hard to suppress and eliminate freedom of speech, as of this moment we still possess this precious constitutional right. Thank God for the truth seekers — the journalists and reporters with verifiable facts speaking through The Washington Post, The New York Times, Politico, NPR, CNN, The Herald and other reliable media sources.
Even Fox News with its plethora of internal scandals and Trump-driven tom-foolery has the absolute right of expression in its right-wing attempts to dupe the public.
I suggest that the author sit back, relax and let middle (and the rest of) America make up our own minds and express our own opinions.
In the meantime, although unlike you, I don’t own a birdcage nor do I read Pravda, I do own a cat; and your commentary is presently lining his litter box.
