Leykis tells truth even if it hurts

I listened to the “Buzz” (KQBZ) the other day on my way home from work when Tom Leykis gave out the name of the unfortunate woman who jumped from the Ship Canal Bridge and that of her alleged boyfriend. I didn’t think one way or another about it, knowing their names would be made public sooner or later. I also listened on Sept. 7 when he blasted the two journalists from the other two Seattle papers who wrote disparaging articles about his “right” to do so. And then my local newspaper had to jump on the bandwagon and do the same. His Friday broadcast did prove you all wrong by citing other people who have attempted suicide in the past and whose names were published – information which can be found on their respective Web sites. While I do not always agree with Mr. Leykis’ views, I do believe he speaks the truth, whether we want to hear it or not. I’d like to also point out that every time his name is in print, especially in a derogatory manner, he picks up a few hundred more listeners. I’m sure Tom thanks you for that.
