Local NHL player is a great story

I sure wish the Everett Herald’s sports section would give more coverage to a wonderful story that has unfolded over the last few years. T.J. Oshie, who grew up in Everett, has been playing with the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League since he was drafted in the first round in 2005 by that organization. I know there is certainly not many local players who make the NHL, so I have to say it is a little disheartening to see virtually no coverage of what he is doing in the sports section. He is a big part of a team that has made the playoffs in two of his first four seasons and is off to a great start this season. Maybe I am biased because he is a cousin of mine, but overall it is a great story of a local kid who is doing great things and I find it to be very disappointing that his career is not followed more, especially given that Everett is his hometown.
