I think a ceramics, crafts and coffee cafe would be a good fit for the Weyerhaeuser building (“Port seeks new ideas for 97-year-old Weyerhaeuser building,” The Herald, Dec. 28).
With art displays and perhaps a pastry, soup and sandwich cafe, it could be a place for people to gather in a peaceful setting. Paint a beautiful mural on the outside of the building inviting artists to set up paint easels up to display and sell their artwork. I know a young 16-year-old that loves to express herself through art; she would love a place like this!
