I can’t be the only person who always appreciates a great letter to the editor from Jim Sawyer. His letter of July 14 is exceptionally important. As he said at the end: “We cannot afford to be complacent or indifferent; the situation demands our finest efforts.” Amen!
If I may, I would like to specifically add “careless” to the first part of that sentence. After the last election, it was reported thousands of votes didn’t count because they weren’t mailed in time! That is ridiculous! For heavens sake, don’t wait til the last minute. If mailed (my preference) vs drop-box, the ballots must be postmarked by Election Day, Aug. 4, not just dropped in the mailbox. Vote a bit early; don’t procrastinate! Way too much is riding on this one.
