Many helped pass the school levy

The Citizen’s Committee for Arlington Schools wishes to thank several individuals and businesses for the contributions they made towards the successful passage of the April 23 School Programs and Operations Levy.

First on the list is Emerald Industrial. Their donation of office space was invaluable, and we truly appreciate their generosity. Mike Jones of Arlington Hardware never fails to offer his assistance, and we know how he loves to make buttons for us! Several businesses donated reader board space to remind us of our civic duty, and we hope everyone in Arlington recognizes their contribution to the education of Arlington students.

Too numerous to list are the monetary contributors to the campaign. Without their aid, important mailings and information could not have been distributed. Also, the committee would like to give a big thanks to the landowners who allowed us to erect large signage on their properties. How could anyone forget to vote for kids after seeing those signs?

The biggest thanks of all must go to the voters of Arlington who once again have reaffirmed their faith in education. The money this levy generates will pay for updated learning materials, music, drama and sports programs, teacher salaries (to maintain smaller classroom size), transportation, and many other items not covered by state funding. It is an exciting time for the Arlington School District, with more positive results to come. Thank you so much for your continued support.
