Match donation for playground

Did you hear about the sorry state that the Hawthorne Elementary School playground is in? (May 17 article by Melissa Slager, “Everett school trying to replace dangerous playground gear.”) There is no money to replace it and this is not a school whose parents can raise the money needed. Of the $70,000 they need, generous supporters have donated $30,000. There is $40,000 needed to finish the playground. Lamoureux Real Estate will donate $1,000. Are there 39 more of you who will donate $1,000? Or 78 of you who will donate $500? Let’s get this money to Hawthorne PTA now, so they can clear out the dangerous play equipment and have the new playground in place before school starts in the fall. Go online to Hawthorne School Playground to see how to donate or write a check to Hawthorne PTA and mail or drop it off at Lamoureux Real Estate in North Everett. Go, Hawthorne Hawks!
