Measure protects our legal citizens

I would like to voice my opinion in favor of Initiative 1043, which myself and many other hard-working Washingtonians are gathering signatures for in an effort to get it on the ballot in November. If enacted into law, I-1043 would require all employers to use the E-Verify program to ascertain the citizenship status of prospective employees, as well as prohibit those without legal citizenship from obtaining driver’s licenses and certain public assistance benefits, such as welfare and money for college tuition.

Now let’s face it: With the job market and the economy in the present state of affairs, hard working legal citizens could use all the extra jobs that would be freed up from those who have no legal right to occupy them. Furthermore, our state budget would be drastically reduced without having to issue welfare benefits to illegal aliens. This initiative is not about singling out a certain people, as some might assume, it’s justice for the Washington worker and citizen. I implore you, sign this petition and let’s get this on the ballot for a more secure Washington state!
