We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the thoughtful community members of Monroe who participated in this year’s Police and Fire Appreciation Week. We are overwhelmed by the show of appreciation from members of our community who joined together for the weeklong annual event recognizing Monroe firefighters and police officers.
We would like to thank Sister Barbara and Pastor Michael Hanford for coordinating the week’s activities as well as the luncheon. On behalf of our police officers and firefighters, we thank Ixtapa, Saigon Kitchen, Sky Valley Bakery and Domino’s Pizza for providing our crews with delicious meals throughout the week. A huge thank you also goes out to the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, Monroe Schools, Monroe Police Chaplains, Valley General Hospital, the Monroe YMCA, Mayor Donetta Walser and the many church congregations, businesses and citizens of Monroe for their hard work and enthusiasm throughout the week.
Please know that if you are not listed here, and did participate, your gifts and warm wishes were very much appreciated by the men and women of our departments. The cookies, cards, letters and pictures delivered to the fire department and police station each day, along with the messages of thanks posted by businesses, reminded us of the caring community in which we live and work. The emergency responders of Monroe recognize the value of having the support of their community and truly enjoy this showing of appreciation each year. We would like to sincerely thank our community for its thoughtfulness and support during Police and Fire Appreciation Week and all year long.
