To the individual who continues to steal my Vote YES for Monroe School District Levy: Thank you!
Every time you steal my sign you stoke the fire in me to donate more money and work harder to get this levy passed. If you and I were to have a conversation I would tell you why I put that sign up. Why education and supporting my community is so important to me and my family.
I would tell you about all the amazing things going on in the Monroe School District. About the athletic opportunity my son has had due to the track and field program and the involved coaches at the high school. The music program at Hidden River Middle School and the high school that has given both of my children the confidence and social network to try things that push them outside their comfort zone and achieve things they never thought they could.
The school counselors that have been there to support their academic goals, and there when socially they needed a safe adult to talk to at school when things got hard with friends. The teachers who take the extra time to help them when they struggle and challenge them when they need it. The administrators that stay late into the evening and are there first thing in the morning, and somehow still have the energy to respond to my email.
I’d ask you to please stop stealing my signs, but it just isn’t worth it. I’ll keep fighting for my district, so all the above people and activities will continue to get the necessary funding they need. Just know, your sign stealing won’t stop me. It makes me work harder.
