In response to the Wednesday letter, “Mugger’s violent death not funny”: The writer refers to Larry Simoneaux as “just stupid” for stating his opinion regarding the mugger who was killed by the senior citizen. If those are the thoughts of a stupid man, then I’m proud to include myself in that category also.
Far too often, the victims are the ones that end up dead while the “alleged” perpetrator gets free room and board at the taxpayers’ expense. Then they are turned loose far too soon so they can commit more crimes against society. Law-abiding citizens have the right to protect themselves and their property. And if some violent criminal gets killed by their intended victim during the commission of a crime, I say tough luck … doesn’t turn out that way near often enough.
