Most are so tiny it’s hazardous

Thank you for running the informative Wednesday article, “Tight living quarters a worry”; however, the photos were just a bit deceiving. Of course Mr. Koh of Coho Properties is going to show you one of his most spacious units. I did like the bicycle parked in the bathroom, though. Well, I can assure you that the photos of the hotel Apodments that were featured were probably his best. All one has to do is use a search engine on a computer and type in keywords “Apodments, Seattle, WA” and you’ll find blogs, photos and information that will make your skin crawl.

So picture this: You get to live in a 200 square feet or less space that includes your bathroom. You don’t have space for a bed. You have a bunk. Under the bunk are drawers and your refrigerator, perhaps. Your bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet. Oh! That’s right, you do get a “hotplate” but where you put that I don’t really know (fire hazard?). You don’t know who else lives there because there are always people coming and going. After all, they are only temporary living arrangements and short-term leases.

Say “cheese.” Click. Now there’s a picture for ya!
