As a longtime citizen of Snohomish County, and in being very involved in traffic congestion relief and transportation solutions, I would like to applaud the Snohomish County Council for taking a leadership position and approving the spending of money on a plan that has been bantered as the best solution for Snohomish County for over two years now and was part of the legislative package for the past six years.
It was great to see a 4-1 vote and comments from the council like those of Dave Gossett: “Strong leaders lead by example” and “Leadership requires making tough decisions that are right, not merely popular.” This plan has been the approved blueprint by the council and legislators as the fix for our congestion for the last four years, yet was just waved around at campaign time. Again, it is refreshing to see the council take action and assert the necessary transportation fixes the county needs to offset the traffic congestion conditions that our roads face today.
