I would like to suggest, in response to the letter in Saturday’s Herald concerning the difference between North Charleston and Charleston, S.C., that she Google the area. The writer said she lived in North Charleston in the mid-1950s and it “lies nearly 100 miles north of the better known city of Charleston.”
My son lives in the Charleston area. He says driving from North Charleston to Charleston is like driving from downtown Seattle to Northgate, hardly a distance of 100 miles.
Funny how 55 years can play tricks with our memories.
