I am puzzled by the decision of the county auditor to send a voters’ pamphlet for the general election but not the primary. The primary has a list of unfamiliar names running for many offices. From that list we will choose the two most popular candidates to compete in the general election. The pamphlet would be a valuable tool in that selection.
Yes, the pamphlet is available online. But many of us either don’t own computers, or don’t really know how to get around on them, and are thus prevented from accessing the information and making an informed vote — essentially robbing us of our right to vote intelligently.
Maybe the primary election should be declared invalid for that reason. Think about it.
