Nothing wrong with his wording on initiatives

The Dec. 2 Herald included a letter to the editor attacking Tim Eyman. The writer failed to mention that many of the left-wing legislators and justices stated that the citizens are too stupid to understand the wording of Initiative 747 and this was the reason the justices struck it down. According to the writer it was due to Eyman’s inability to get the initiative worded right. There was nothing wrong with Eyman’s wording of the initiative.

Legislators hide behind weak excuses like that even though the people overwhelmingly approved the initiative. It is in defiance of the people’s wishes. In addition, the legislators were certainly insulting enough.

Ever notice that when liberal lefties fail to debate an issue with facts they resort to general statements and insults? How many people in this state have thanked Eyman when they paid $30 instead of $500 for an outrageous car tax based on sticker price of the car, when neighboring states charged $10-$20? Actually, the Legislature should have solved this problem. They love taxes and spending our money. So the lefty legislators did nothing and the problem was not solved until Eyman came along.

The letter writer made another outrageous statement: “Legislators with whom I have spoken share Gregoire’s position that the people’s wishes should be honored.” She is not honoring the people’s wishes. There is some $259 million of taxing authority not included in Gregoire’s bill. It is in what is called banked capacity and already some seaports have increased their taxes by large amounts under this category. Taxpayers clearly want a real 1 percent cap bill, not the governor’s bill and she refuses to repeal the extra $259 million.
