The NRA more than any other has taken on the defense of our second amendment. They either believe passionately in a constitutionally mandated right to bear arms, or it is a maneuver designed to protect the profits of the gun industry.
The NRA would have you believe that it is only our “right to bear arms” that keeps us from being tyrannized by commies. OK. Let’s examine that: Evidently they feel that enough folks there at home with your AR-15s are quite capable of standing up to the military might of the United States. Wow! That’s the definition of optimism.
What the NRA has actually enabled with such propaganda, is an untold number of whackos with high-powered weapons to unload on whatever target presents itself. Who better than schoolkids who won’t shoot back? While this does not represent the largest number of firearm deaths in our country, it is arguably the most visceral, and thus the fulcrum by which politics are generated. Please. Let’s slow this slaughter, and demand real background checks. How hard is that?
