OK, I admit it. I was wrong. I expected more out of Barack Obama on core constitutional issues than continuing George W. Bush’s disasterous abuse of FISA and his continuation of Bush’s office of faith-based initiatives. I feel like such a rube to think he’d actually bring some amount of “change.”
These are not usual political “compromises” but core issues that no American, Democrat or Republican, should embrace. Stalin would be proud of such surveillance.
I feel like that character Inigo Montoya from “The Princess Bride” — I want to get Obama’s attention and say “Mr. Obama, that word you use, ‘change’ — I do not think it means what you think it means.”
I’ll have to think of someone creative to write in for my wasted Washington state vote for president. Maybe it’ll be Inigo Montoya.
