I feel compelled to write my first letter to a newspaper.
In a time when police criticism is at an all-time high, I think that the general public needs to realize that Everett’s finest (the reason they name police officers “finest” after their respective cities is because these men and women are the best the community has to offer and they are willing to protect and serve us) are literally putting there lives on the line for us.
In the recent case, we have a heroic Everett police officer stabbed by a suspect. He is now recovering from injuries sustained in the line of duty.
I just want everyone to realize that we are going about our regular lives and sleeping safely in our beds that these men and women are patrolling 24/7 and putting there lives on the line for us.
I want to give a big thanks to those who sacrifice to “serve and protect.”
