As I read The Herald on a recent morning, my mind again was blown away at the way our laws are made – supposedly to protect us.
On page B2 I read about a 21-year-old who admits to raping a 12-year-old boy and may face 61/2 years in jail. Then I read on page A7 that a man accused of a lottery tip-off could face 50 years in prison.
Is it just me, or does this seem awfully unbalanced? Where are our priorities as human beings? Our children should be far more important than some lottery.
But again, it could just be me.
