Here they go again, two downtrodden Republicans lamenting the Snohomish County Council’s total disregard for the 40 percent of voters they claim lost their right to vote in public places. How soon they forget that only last month, the same body ignored the 60 percent who preferred mail-in voting.
In their letters, the disenfranchised twosome also claim the unconstitutionality of this council action that takes away their right to vote the way they want to and the loss of seeing friends and neighbors once a year or maybe every four (they should get out more).
Sadly, the point of this issue continues to be missed: No one has removed our right to vote. The vast majority of this state’s counties have already gone to mail-in voting. It’s a fact. Get over it. None of your constitutional rights (and privileges) have been changed or outlawed. If you want to publicly cast your next vote, stand in line at the nearest post office.
