Whidbey Growlers
Navy plan should be overruled
So, the Navy is going to increase the numbers of Growler flights (“Navy plan: Big increase in flights to small Whidbey airfield,” The Herald, June 27).
Are you kidding me? The secretary of the Navy says this is the perfect place for this (but not for the citizens who live there). Who gives the Navy the right to come in and terrorize these poor people? And there will be more Navy personnel moving in needing housing, raising property taxes. Also, they have been spraying poisonous fire-retardant chemicals to practice, and it is contaminating the water supplies! Is this necessary? How much practice do these people need, and why can’t they find someplace else, like Eastern Washington. This is simply put, military terrorism!
There has to be someone who can overrule this!
