Parental notification should be required

I attended the pro-life rally in Olympia last week. The speakers offered hope for those in unplanned pregnancies and compassion for those who have been wounded by abortion.

It’s no surprise that Planned Parenthood continues to attack us. They’re the largest abortion provider in the United States. If they’re so proud of what they do, why do they so adamantly oppose the right of parents to be involved when teenagers get abortions?

Because ultrasound proves it is a baby in the womb, women must be given an opportunity to know all the facts before they make a decision that will affect them for the rest of their lives. Young girls especially shouldn’t take such an irreversible step without guidance and support from their parents.

If you believe parents should have more rights than abortionists, call the Olympia Hot Line, 1-800-562-6000, and urge your legislators to support and vote for HB 2617 and SB 6223, which will require parental notification before minors have abortions. Let’s do it to protect the children – your children.
